Free Prize Draw Winner Announced
During the months of January and February 2020, The Vale Of Neath Practice called on the help of our patients to improve our weight recording data. The Vale Of Neath Pharmacy kindly donated their electronic weighing device, and as an added incentive for patients to handover their little printout our GP Partners kindly agreed to fund a £30.00 "One For All" Gift Voucher.
The draw was made earlier today (28/02/2020) by one of our playful registered children in the waiting room, and he picked out the lucky ticket which belonged to Mrs S.Handley from Glynneath.
The image above shows Mrs Handley being presented with her prize from Dr Hugh Gripper and our Practice Manager - Alex Davies.
Thank you to everyone who participated in this free prize draw.
Vale Of Neath Community Transport - DANSA (SUSPENDED)
Please kindly note that the Dansa Community Transport Service has been suspended a week earlier than anticipated, due to guidance over social distancing measures.
The patient uptake of the DANSA community bus (since its inception and changing of the routes) was discussed during a recent stakeholder meeting between representatives from Swansea Bay University Health Board, Vale Of Neath Practice, Local Community Councillors (Blaengwrach, Clyne/Melincourt) and DANSA Community Transport.
An analysis of the actual usage figures since the new Medical Centre opened on Monday 19th August 2019, can be found by clicking HERE.
The timetables for the current routes can be viewed by clicking on the links below:
The Health Board generously agreed to fund the Community Transport Scheme for six months, and have also just approved another one month extension to allow the scheme to continue until 31st March 2020.
Whilst it was widely accepted by the Stakeholder Group that the service provided by DANSA has been a valuable resource to some of our patients, the actual usage figures are insufficient to consider continuing to run a similar service schedule on a single "charge per trip" basis.
Unfortunately as there will be no further Health Board funding available after this date, the Community Transport service currently being provided by DANSA will cease operation.
Members of our Local Community Councils are currently seeking out other grant funding sources, and The Vale Of Neath Patient Participation Group (PPG) are attempting to establish a "Volunteer Driver" scheme, and are seeking expressions of interest for an unpaid "Volunteer Co-ordinator" - please click on link below for further information:
